 ประโยค (Sentence)

1) มี 2 ชนิด Independent Clause

                3.1.1) Independent Clause ประโยคหลัก (S + V) = ประโยคสมบูรณ์

                3.1.2) Dependent Clause ประโยครอง (คำเชื่อม + S + V) = ประโยคไม่สมบูรณ์ มักจะเป็นโครงสร้างใดโครงสร้างหนึ่งดังต่อไปนี้ Adjective Claus, Adverb Claus, Noun Claus

2) ประโยค

2.1 Simple Sentence (ประโยคความเดียว) เรียกอีกอย่างว่า Independent Clause

2.2 Complex Sentence (ประโยคความซ้อน) ประกอบด้วย

Independent Clause + Dependent Clause

                Adjective Clause ขยายคำนาม

                1. คำสรรพนาม

                                who (ผู้ซึ่ง) = บุคคล

whom  (ผู้ซึ่ง) = บุคคล เป็นได้แค่กรรมเท่านั้น

which  (สิ่งที่) = สิ่งของ

that  (ผู้ซึ่ง,สิ่งที่, ว่า) = ใช้ทั่วไป

where  (ที่ที่, ที่ซึ่ง) = สถานที่

when  (เมื่อ) = เวลา

why  (เหตุที่, เหตุผลที่, ทำไม) = เหตุผล

                2. กลุ่มคำ Adjective Claus = Subject + Verb

     3. ในบางประโยคสรรพนาม who, which, that สามารถทำหน้าที่เป็น Subject ได้

      *Adverb Clause ขยายคำกริยา คำคุณศัพท์ คำวิเศษณ์

2.3 Compound Sentence (ประโยคความรวม) ประกอบด้วย Independent Clauseอย่างน้อยสองประโยคมารวมกัน ตามวิธีดังนี้

วิธีที่หนึ่ง   Independent Clause , Conjunction + Independent Clause.

วิธีที่สอง   Independent Clause ; Conjunctive Adverb, Independent Clause.

วิธีที่สาม                 Independent Clause ; Independent Clause.

Conjunction = and, but, or, for, so, yet, nor (V + S)

Conjunctive Adverb = accordingly, anyway, finally, however, meanwhile, otherwise, still, specifically, consequently, besides, furthermore, incidentally, nonetheless, similarly, subsequently, indeed, also, certainly, hence, nevertheless, then, therefore, instead

2.4 Compound - Complex Sentence (ประโยคความซ้อน) ดังโครงสร้างต่อไปนี้

- Independent Clause (อย่างน้อยสองประโยค), Conjunction + Dependent Clause (อย่างน้อยหนึ่งประโยค)

- Dependent Clause มักจะเป็นโครงสร้างใดโครงสร้างหนึ่งดังต่อไปนี้ Adjective Claus, Adverb Claus, Noun Claus

- Independent Clause, Adjective Clause, Conjunction + Dependent Clause

- Independent Clause, Conjunction + Dependent Clause + Adjective Claus

- Adverb Clause, Independent Clause, Conjunction + Dependent Clause

- อาจใช้กลุ่มคำ Noun Clause มาช่วย Noun Clause + Independent Clause, Conjunction + Dependent Clause
